PROCESSING PROCEDURE


 

 

 

Entry Level Police Officer Applicant Process includes: Application, physical agility test, written exam, oral board, background, polygraph, conditional offer of employment, medical exam, controlled substance screening, psychological exam, overall executive review and field training (see dates below).

  • Application (in "pdf" format and downloadable from Adobe website ) or may be picked up at the Oro Valley Police Department, 11000 N. La Canada Drive in Oro Valley -

  • Physical Agility Test (entry only) - TBA at CDO High School track, 25 West Calle Concordia

  • Written Exam (entry only) - TBA at the Town Council Chambers

  • Oral Boards -

    • TBA at the Town Council Chambers                     

  • Background and polygraph - TBA

  • Conditional Offer of Employment - TBA

  • Medical Exam - TBA

  • Controlled substance screening - TBA

  • Psychological Exam - TBA

  • Overall executive review (Officers will be hired based upon executive review and available positions with OVPD; eligible applicants not hired will be placed on a hiring list for 6 months)

  • Police Academy (22 weeks - entry only)  September 29, 2008 at Pima County Sheriff's Department Academy

  • Field Training (12 weeks - entry after academy; 9 weeks - lateral after executive review)

 Physical Agility Tests at the Canyon Del Oro High School, 25 West Calle Concordia.
